Can I join the course if I have medical conditions?

Learners with heart, lung, knee, spinal or joint conditions are strongly advised to obtain medical clearance before performing CPR. SRCA is not responsible for injuries sustained during training.

Can pregnant participants join?

Pregnant participants are highly discouraged from performing CPR due to physical risk. Participation requires signing an indemnity form.

Do you offer corporate / in-house training?

SRCA provides corporate or in-house training. Minimum class size varies by course and venue; please email academy@redcross.sg for details.

How long is my certification valid?

All SRFAC-accredited Standard First Aid certifications (including refresher) are valid for 2 years.

I lost my certificate. How do I get a replacement?

The replacement fee is $50 before GST. Please email academy@redcross.sg to arrange collection.

What is the Instructor : Learners : Manikin ratio?

As per SRFAC guidelines (31 March 2023), the ratios are:- 1 Instructor : 1 Manikin : 4 Learners, OR - 1 Seasoned Instructor : 2 Manikins : 6 Learners

When can I renew my certification?

Renewal Eligibility: You are eligible to attend a re-certification course starting 3 months before and up to 3 months after your certificate's expiry date. Lapsed Certification: If your certification has lapsed for more than 3 months past the expiry date, you must retake the full course.

When will I receive my certificate?

You will receive it on the day of assessment, upon attaining Competent/Successful completion. An e-Certificate of Attendance may be issued upon request.

Who should take a refresher course?

Anyone holding an SRFAC-accredited provider certificate (e.g., SFA, CFA, BCLS+AED) that is reaching its expiry within the 2-year validity period.

First Aid

Occupational First Aid Course

Duration: 23.5 hrs (3 days). 9am - 6pm, 9am-5.30pm, 9am-6pm.

This is a mandatory training course for Occupational First Aiders. The aim of the course is to train individuals to render first aid treatment to the casualty during an emergency or accident at the workplace. Workplace Safety and Health (First Aid) Regulations stipulates that “every person appointed as a first-aider shall (a) have successfully completed a training course acceptable to the Commissioner; and (b) undergo such subsequent re-training in first-aid treatment as the Commissioner may require”

Occupational First Aid Instructor Train-The-Trainer Full Course

Duration: 32h (4 days) + up to 70.5h practicum

This classroom-based training course will equip Trainee-Instructors with the competencies to teach the Approved Training Syllabus of the OFAC based on the MOM Technical Notes Course Reference Matrix. Upon completion, Trainee-Instructors will be able to instruct competently as a First Aid Instructor, in compliance with industry standards, focusing on subject matter topics shared by the Instructor Trainers.

Duration: 24 hrs (3 days)

This classroom-based training course equips Trainee-Instructors with the competencies to teach Standard First Aid (SFA) Provider Courses. Upon completion, Trainee-Instructors will be able to instruct competently as an SFA Instructor, in compliance with industry standards, focusing on subject matter topics shared by the Chief Instructor-Trainers.
