Can I visit my family members/friends if they are at the RCHD?

Yes. We encourage family and friends to visit regularly to keep in touch with our residents, and to maintain their social connections and family bonds.

Who will bear the medical bills of the residents of RCHD?

Family members or next-of-kin will need to settle the out-of-pocket medical bills for the resident (after deduction from government subsidies if applicable).

Providing for Persons with Disabilities

The Red Cross Home for the Disabled provides residential care for people with severe or multiple physical and intellectual disabilities. The Day Activity Centre for the Disabled offers half-day and full-day programmes for adults who require structured care and support.

Both facilities are supported by nursing professionals, healthcare and therapy aides, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists. Therapeutic and recreational activities support residents’ and clients’ physical, mental, social and emotional well-being.

The Day Activity Centre provides a safe, welcoming space where persons with disabilities can stay active, build friendships, and thrive through meaningful activities.

What is the difference between RCHD and DAC?

RCHD is for persons with disabilities with inadequate social support, as they do not have caregivers or have caregivers who can no longer care for them, while the DAC is a day centre for persons with disabilities who are still under the care of their caregivers or next of kin.

Can I bring food and drinks when I visit my loved ones?

Please seek advice from the social worker before bringing any food or drinks. Requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the resident’s and client’s dietary and care needs.

How can I apply to the Red Cross Day Activity Centre or Red Cross Home for the Disabled?
