Who Do We Support?

We support children and young persons aged 7 to 16 from challenging backgrounds.

This includes children and young persons from vulnerable families in urgent need of immediate support, including but not limited to skipped-generation families and single-parent families.

Group Volunteering

We welcome partners, corporate and student groups to engage with our Young Hearts through running enriching initiatives, such as:

  • Educational & Outing Excursions: Co-curate and lead enriching day trips to wildlife parks, museums, nature reserves, and interactive learning galleries.
  • Sports, Games & Active Wellness: Organise energetic team sports, bowling sessions, or outdoor hikes to promote healthy habits, teamwork, and active play.
  • STEM, Tech & Skill-Building Workshops: Share your corporate expertise by running hands-on sessions on basic coding, cybersecurity, STEM experiments, or digital creative design and more.
  • Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) & Life Skills: Facilitate meaningful discussions and activities centered on character building, online safety, emotional regulation, and healthy boundaries.
  • Arts, Crafts & Culinary Experiences: Host creative art projects, seasonal festive crafts, or interactive baking and food-decorating workshops that foster self-expression.

All activities will be co-planned with the Young Hearts team. If you have an idea or want to leverage your team’s specific skills, email us at [email protected]

Frequently Asked Questions

Young Hearts does not have public enrollment, as we find and enroll CYPs through referrals from local social service networks, direct on-the-ground community outreach, and internal cross-programme referrals (such as children from families who are already receiving aid from Singapore Red Cross’ Family Crisis Aid).

For new students, parents or guardians must be referred by a Social Service Agency (SSA). Upon successful referral, they will receive an enrolment link to complete the registration.

For existing students, parents or guardians will receive the enrolment link once a year (usually in November / December of the year before enrolment), for programme renewal.

The Young Hearts Programme offers a range of services, including:

  • A safe and nurturing environment outside of school hours
  • Homework guidance and educational support
  • Character and values education
  • Life skills and social-emotional learning activities
  • Excursions and educational outings
  • Nutritious meals and snacks (where applicable)

Programme activities may vary depending on the needs of the students and the centre.

The programme is open to students who:

  • Are between Primary 1 and Sec 4 and are studying in full-time local government or government-aided schools
  • Household monthly income per person should not exceed $1500
  • Children should be Living within the centres’ boundaries (Yishun & Tampines)
  • Family is receiving support from a social service agency (e.g., Family Service Centre, Family Coach, social worker, school counselor, etc.)

Eligibility will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
