A compressed training on common emergencies, suitable for CERT (Company Emergency Response Teams), organisations, schools, families, volunteers, and individuals who wish to be certified competent in basic first aid and AED resuscitation skills.
The CPR+AED module is accredited by the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC).
The Basic First Aid module is accredited by the Singapore Red Cross Academy.

Prerequisite Requirements
- Secondary Two education or ESS Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level 5 is highly recommended.
- Learners must be physically and medically fit to perform CPR, first aid and casualty-carrying activities.
- Learners with medical conditions, injuries or pregnancy should consult a doctor before attending.

- Learners must be physically fit and able to assist another person during an emergency.
- Those with respiratory, orthopaedic, knee, spinal or joint conditions should consult a doctor before attending.
- Pregnant participants are advised to defer the course until at least six weeks after delivery.

Curriculum & Modules
Module 1 - CPR Theory & Practice
Adult one-rescuer CPR theory and hands-on practice for an unconscious casualty.
Module 2 - AED
AED theory, safe operation and practical use on an unconscious adult casualty.
Module 3 - First Aid Essentials
Introduction to basic first aid and how to check and prepare a first aid kit.
Module 4 - Medical Emergencies
Module 5 - Casualty Carrying
Assessment & Certificate
Certificate Type
Two-year Basic First Aid + AED Provider certificate.
CPR+AED is accredited by SRFAC, while Basic First Aid is accredited by SRCA.
The course is also known as CERT First Aider with CPR+AED and is recognised by the SCDF Fire Safety Department for CERT training requirements.
Assessment
Written:
20 multiple-choice questions: 10 on CPR+AED and 10 on Basic First Aid.
Learners must score at least 80% for each component.
