Does SRCA sell First Aid Kits?

We do sell First Aid Kits at our SRCA Office. Prices range from $5 for a mini-First Aid Kit, $35 for a Standard First Aid Kit and up to $60 for a fully equipped First Aid Box. Free delivery for orders above $500.

Does SRCA sell operational AEDs?

We do not sell AEDs, however we may refer you to our partner who distributes ZOLL AEDs.

I lost my first aid certificate and would like to request for replacement certificate

Replacement of a card certificate is chargeable at $50 (Before GST). You may email us at [email protected] to arrange for collection at the training center nearest to you.

Can I Request for the Invoice to be sent to my Organisation?
  1. Register for the course that you are applying for on our website.
  2. Click “Register and Pay Online” and we will receive the registration information in our system.
  3. You will be directed to the payment page.

  5. SRCA will follow-up with an Invoice. If you have applied for SSG Funding for your participants, the Invoice sent will reflect the balance payable after factoring in the participants’ funding amounts.
Can You E-Invoice My Organisation/School Through Vendors@Gov?

We are able to submit e-Invoices to your organisation or school via Vendors@Gov.

What Are Your Payment Methods?

Payment Methods

Participants can opt for a variety of payment methods. In the event you wish to opt for a payment method other than VISA/MASTERCARD, please do the following:

  1. Register for the course that you are applying for on our website.
  2. Click “Register and Pay Online” and we will receive the registration information in our system.
  3. You will be directed to the online payment page.
  4. Email us at [email protected] with your registration information and preferred mode of payment.

VISA/MASTERCARD

When you register for the course online, you will be automatically redirected to make the payment online. This is highly recommended as it is convenient for you to do so.

Bank Transfer

In the event you are unable to make payment via VISA/MASTERCARD, you can also opt to do an online bank transfer of the payment amount directly to us. Do email us at [email protected] for our bank details to facilitate the transfer.

Cheque

Instructorship

How do I become a Child First Aid Instructor?

Please refer to SRFAC Entry and Renewal Criteria for SFA and CFA Providers, Instructors and Instructor-Trainers.

How do I get appointed as a SRFAC Chief Instructor?

For Chief Instructor (CI) matters, please refer to SRFAC Instructor guidelines as attached by SRFAC, not by the Red Cross. For any further queries, please email the relevant agency.

However, 4 years of relevant training is teaching SRFAC basic courses such as SRFAC’s CPR+AED or SRFAC’s BCLS+AED, not certified/responding at a provider level e.g First Aider / WSHO. For SRFAC CI appointment it is based on your years of teaching SRFAC courses to meet its eligibility and recommendation, while appointment is by the SRFAC. There are no such CI certification courses conducted by SRFAC as CI is by appointment-based.

I am keen to be an OFA Instructor, can I double up as a SFA Instructor?

It is the prerogative of Approved Training Organisations (ATOs) hiring managers to clarify your qualifications before engaging you to conduct lessons.

In order to be a OFA trainer, you will be required to possess the following qualifications based on MOM qualifications:

  • Possess either the Red Cross Train-The-Trainer (OFA Instructor Course) or St John Higher First Aid Certification with BCLS+AED Instructor Certificate.
  • Possess minimum ACLP / ACTA.
  • Attend the SISO Academy’s Code of Ethics.

The OFA Instructor Certificate cannot be used to conduct SRFAC Standard First Aid Course from 1st August 2021. Please register for the Standard First Aid Instructor Course if you are interested.

Since SRFAC introduced the SRFAC SFA Instructor Course in June 2021, new aspiring instructors are no longer able to conduct both SRFAC SFA and MOM OFAC due to different agencies’ qualifications. For more information please refer to the SFA Instructor Course Information for details.

The SFA Instructor Certificate cannot be used to conduct MOM Occupational First Aid Course from 1st August 2021. Please register for the Occupational First Aid Instructor Course if you are interested.

You cannot acquire a MOM OFA instructor license to teach SRFAC SFA courses as well or vice-versa as a New First Aid Instructor.

I am keen to teach First Aid & Life Support Courses at the Singapore Red Cross Academy. What are the entry requirements for Instructors (Associate Instructors)?

Applicants would require to possess and/or submit the following items:

Mandatory requirements to teach First Aid or BCLS+AED Courses:

  1. Personal Details
    • 18 years old and above
    • Have no mental or physical illness/conditions that hinders effective training
    • Able to communicate effectively in English language for class facilitation purposes. Ability to communicate in other languages is a bonus
    • Latest Resume with highest education qualification certificate and below certificates scanned for verification purposes
    • Not registered as an Instructor with more than 3 SRFAC-registered Training Centres
  2. Experience and Skills2.1 Minimum 5-years experience in any of the following:
    • Paramedic Level III OR
    • Practising in the nursing industry OR
    • Teaching/instructional experiences in related Workplace Safety & Health topics or Life Support Courses

    2.2 Demonstrate Competency in at least one of the following:

    • Providing First Aid OR
    • Adult or Youth training
  3. Knowledge3.1 Demonstrate knowledge on first aid & life support
    • Knowledge in coaching, mentoring and nursing is a bonus

    3.2 Demonstrate knowledge in one of the following:

    • Healthcare sector OR
    • Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
  4. Training4.1 Pre-requisite courses:
    • WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) OR
    • Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) OR
    • Certificate of Attendance in Code of Ethics workshop accredited by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM)
    • Valid Occupational First Aid Provider Certificate (MOM) OR
    • Valid Standard First Aid Provider Certificate (SRFAC) OR
    • Valid Child First Aid Provider Certificate (SRFAC)

    4.2 Train-the-Trainer/Training-of-Trainers courses:

    • Valid BCLS+AED Instructor Certificate (SRFAC) OR
    • First Aid Train-The-Trainer certificate (Red Cross) OR
    • Higher First Aid with MOI (St John) OR
    • SAF/SCDF Medic Instructor (with relevant MOI qualification) OR
    • Nursing Educator (with relevant MOI qualification)

    4.3 Other courses which are a bonus:

    • Academic training in coaching, mentoring, nursing or education/teaching
    • WSQ Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education (DACE)

What You Need to Know

Who should take the refresher courses?

First Aid and CPR certificates accredited by the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC) are valid for 2 years. This validity ensures that skills stay current and effective.

To renew your certification, you must complete a refresher course before it expires.

How do I check if I am due for renewal?

Check the expiry date printed on your certificate. You may also contact SRCA for assistance in verifying your renewal status.

How long is the Refresher certification valid?

All SRFAC-accredited Standard First Aid certifications (including Refresher) are valid for 2 years.

When can I renew my certification?
  • Renewal Eligibility: You are eligible to attend a re-certification course starting 3 months before and up to 3 months after your certificate’s expiry date.
  • Lapsed Certification: If your certification has lapsed for more than 3 months past the expiry date, you must retake the full course.

Is the refresher available online?

No. SRFAC requires all practical assessments to be conducted in person. Theory components may be delivered via e-learning, but hands-on evaluation must be completed face-to-face.

What if my certification has already expired?

If your certification has expired for more than 3 months, SRFAC requires learners to retake the full Standard First Aid course.

Are subsidies available?

Yes. Eligible individuals may receive up to 70% SSG subsidy. Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above may also use their SkillsFuture Credits to offset remaining fees.

A valid (or within the 3-month grace window) SRFAC-accredited Standard First Aid certificate. Expired certificates beyond the grace window require retaking the full course.

Class Registration Terms & Conditions
REGISTRATION Registration is subject to availability of classes and on a first-come-first-serve basis.
POSTPONEMENT & REPLACEMENT POLICY

All postponement and replacement requests must be submitted in writing to SRCA.

An administrative fee shall apply as follows:

  1. 14 days before class starts, $15 (before GST) payable per trainee.
  2. Less than 14 days before class starts, $30 (before GST) payable per trainee.
  3. With valid medical reasons, no fee shall apply.
REFUND POLICY (WITHDRAWAL/CANCELLATION)

All Refund/Withdrawal requests must be submitted in writing to SRCA.

Refund will be as follows:

  1. More than 14 days before class starts, full refund less admin fee, $15 (before GST) applies.
  2. 7 to 14 days before class starts, 50% of course fee refund (before GST) less admin fee, $15 (before GST) applies.
  3. Less than 7 days before class starts, no refund.

If cancellation is by SRCA, full refund with no admin charges.
INVOICE AND PAYMENT

Invoice will be issued one week before the start of course date.

Payment of course fees can be made via:

  • GIRO (for company-sponsored)
  • PayNow
  • Bank Transfer
  • SkillsFuture Credit (only applicable for SSG-funded courses)
MEDICAL LIABILITIES

Medically fit with no pre-existing medical conditions such as knee, spinal or joint injury.

Trainees with medical problems, such as bronchial asthma, any upper respiratory tract infection, orthopedic problems (e.g. slipped disc), are encouraged to consult their own doctors before attending the course. In case of doubt, please consult your doctor first and produce a Letter/Memo to indicate if fit for training.

Pregnant ladies are discouraged from undertaking the CPR practice due to safety reasons. In case of doubt, please consult your doctor first and produce a Letter/Memo to indicate if fit for training. You are advised to defer taking the course to at least 6 weeks after delivery.

There will be a need to sign the indemnity form as Singapore Red Cross Academy bears no responsibility for any injuries sustained during the course.
REPRINT OF CERTIFICATES Replacement or lost of certificate is chargeable at $50 (before GST).
RE-ASSESSMENT FEE

Trainees are given 3 attempts at Theory & Practical Test Modules on the same day. They will need to book a re-assessment slot on another day if they fail after the given attempts at the specific Test Modules.

Re-assessment fee of $40 (before GST) is applicable.

Trainees who are deemed NOT YET COMPETENT (NYC) at any Test Modules on the re-assessment date will have to do a RE-COURSE.
APPEAL

Trainees may file an appeal by submitting the Assessment Appeal Form obtained from the SRCA Office within 3 days upon the release of the assessment results (theory & practical).

The appeal will be reviewed by a panel including the Associate Director, Management Representative and the Assessor.

Outcome of the appeal will be informed within 15 working days.

If the appeal is successful, a certificate of completion will be issued.

If the appeal is unsuccessful, trainees will be recommended to do the respective course again.

The appeal panel’s decision is final. No further appeal will be entertained.
SKILL DEVELOPMENT FUND (SDF) TRAINING GRANT & ABSENTEE PAYROLL (AP)

SDF Training Grants are applicable for:

  • OFAC, ROFAC, CFA, RCFA, SFA, RSFA, BFA, BCLS
  • PFA+ Course
  • BCLS+AED, SFA, CPR+AED Instructor Courses

For Absentee Payroll, Trainee must be employed by companies in accordance with the Employment Act except for sole proprietors, partners, working directors, members of co-operatives or commission based agents. Company of sponsored learners are responsible for making payment for training expenses NO MORE than 30 days from the Start of Course date.

Company will be responsible for full course fees in the event that:

  • SDF Training Grant is cancelled due to late payment
  • SDF Training Grant is partially rejected as per SSG
  • Trainee(s) failed to achieve 100% Competency (C) during the assessment.

Please note that all Trainee(s) must fulfil the following criteria before claiming Training Grant:

  • Training expenses have been made to the training organisation
  • Trainee(s) must be Singapore Citizen(s) or Singapore Permanent Resident(s)
  • Trainee(s) must have achieved the following: Achieve Competency (C) in all module assessments.
PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION ACT (PDPA) All personal information collected will solely be used for administrative purposes (e.g. course confirmation, certificate validity reminder, etc.). Please refer to the Personal Data Protection Act at www.pdpc.gov.sg.

Financial Support & Funding

Can I Use My SkillsFuture Credits to Offset the Remaining Course Fees After Subsidies?

Singaporeans aged 25 and above may use their SkillsFuture Credits (SFC) to cover the remaining course fees after SkillsFuture support. To check your SkillsFuture Credit balance, please log in to https://myskillsfuture.gov.sg

Follow these steps to check on your SFC balance:

  1. Visit https://myskillsfuture.gov.sg
  2. Click ‘Submit SkillsFuture Credit Claims’
  3. Log in using your SingPass
  4. Click the arrow at the top right corner to view your available SkillsFuture Credits

Please note:

  • SRCA courses are not eligible for the Additional SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career Support).
  • You may only use credits from SkillsFuture Credit and the One-off SkillsFuture Credit Top-Up.
How Do I Apply for Funding or Claims for My Course?

  1. Apply for the course via SRCA’s registration portal.
  2. Await the confirmation email from Singapore Red Cross Academy (sent ~2 weeks before the course).
  3. SRCA will inform you of the nett payable course fees.
  4. You may choose to use your SkillsFuture Credits to offset the remaining fees.
  5. To submit a SkillsFuture Credit claim:
    • Visit MySkillsFuture
    • Log in with Singpass
    • Search for the course
    • Create & submit your SkillsFuture Credit claim 
  6. Email a screenshot of the approved claim with Claim ID to: [email protected] or your respective location manager.

Company-Sponsored Trainees
  1. Apply for the course via SRCA’s registration portal.
  2. Await the confirmation email from SRCA (sent ~2 weeks before the course).
  3. SRCA will apply for the training grant on behalf of the company.
  4. An invoice with the nett course fee will be issued ~1 week before the course starts.
  5. The company must make payment (GIRO or bank transfer) before the class begins.
What Financial Support Options Are Available?

Your eligibility for SkillsFuture support can potentially grant you up to 70% subsidy. The precise percentage depends on eligibility criteria such as individual or corporate support, citizenship status, and age. Please refer to the tables below for more details.

What is Absentee Payroll Funding?

The grant provides reimbursement to employers who send their employees for training courses funded by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) during regular working hours. It also compensates employers for training conducted outside of working hours, covering the overtime pay that would otherwise have been incurred.

Funding is claimable at up to $4.50 per hour, capped at $100,000 per enterprise per calendar year

To qualify for this grant, organisations must meet the following criteria:

  • Be registered or incorporated in Singapore
  • Eligibility also applies to non-business entities such as Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs) and societies, even if they are not registered with ACRA
  • Sole proprietorships that meet the above criteria are also eligible
